ECARUS is a
SOLAR ELECTRIC VEHICLE (SEV)
To allow for complete expedition autonomy,
it consists of three elements:
1. 6x6 off-road EV
ECARUS’s highly efficient electric drive puts over 1200Nm of
instant torque onto a 6-wheel drivetrain for unparalleled off-road capability. The new ECARUS Electric Drive combines proven mechanical ruggedness with 2021 state of the art EV technology to create an off-road vehicle that knows no boundaries.
2. Extreme expedition shelter
A removable, ultra-light weight cabin, made from carbon composites, equipped with both expedition gear and plenty of creature comforts. Designed for extreme heat and cold.
Features a pop-up roof, slide-out storage solutions and a near-infinite clean, mobile power supply (12V, 230V, 380V/AC and DC).
3. Solar self-recharge
A foldaway solar system allows a full same-day recharge with zero-emissions and complete independence from fuel stations or charge points. Typical weight for a >14kWp/80m2 solar plant was reduced by 75 percent, making it mobile and allowing two people to set it up in minutes.
